Over the next 4 weeks Rob from (Mia Dora) and Ali OOFT (OOFT! Music) will be running through a friendly introduction to electronic music production in the Sub Hub lecture hall.

Subjects covered will include everything from getting started with up your own personal studio setup, sketching out initial ideas, incorporating hardware, right through to arranging tracks and completing final mixes.

Most of the work will be carried out on Ableton Live recording software, although all of the techniques involved will be applicable to any other DAWs.

For the first session Ali will be covering basic track editing and sampling techniques, whilst Rob will be concentrating on drum sound design.

By the end of the final session we hope to have created some interesting tracks which will then be made available to download and remix, and we’ll be running a competition to see who can come up with the best reinterpretation. The winner will get their song uploaded as a free download on the Sub Club website. Nice.

The sessions will run every Wednesday from 6-8pm in the lecture hall, followed by further questions and chat in the bar over a pint.
