Focus on Gaiser

On Friday 21st November Sensu keep the momentum up with party number three of five of their 10th birthday celebrations.

They welcome Michigan music man Gaiser for an extra special live set to showcase his critically acclaimed False Light album. An avid and talented musician and an integral part of Richie Hawtin’s M_Nus label & Enter parties in Ibiza, this will be Gaiser’s debut appearance in Sub Club & Sensu and we can’t wait for this unrelenting groove lead live set, one that will most definitely keep you moving!

For anyone who doesn’t know and wants to, we thought we’d get to grips with some selected musical highlights from his career, and treat you to some of the best mixes and live sessions from his world on the web…

To give you a flavour we’re also linking to a couple of interesting press pieces, beginning with an interview for Cocoon who put it like this, “He’s a musician who lives off his instincts, channelling his moods and emotions directly into his computer, translating new experiences and sensations into sound. There simply is no other way.”

As far as Ibiza is concerned The first ENTER. party of 2013 took place on Thursday, July 4th. Resident Advisor streamed this live. Check out the recording below.

Gaiser has also worked with renowned Turkish artist and director Ahmet said Kaplan to develop interactive live visuals to complement the audio of his live show.

Since 2005, Gaiser has been at the heart of the minimal techno movement. However Jon recently took things to a new level. First up was this outstanding Essential Mix aired back in July live on BBC Radio 1.

Here he is talking to Awakenings Festival.

Only the other week Gaiser released False Light, his third artist album on Richie Hawtin’s label. The ten-track affair is a very complete and contemporary techno tale.

The new live show saw it’s debut at this years Amsterdam Dance Event.

Replete with exceptional drum patterns, melodies and distinct ethereal sounds this will be a multi-sensory experience with which to engage. Expect artfully spun percussive, synth, and bass from this force to be reckoned with.

This is a guy with endless talents, musically he is up there with the best. Here he is on some Boiler Room DJ Set business…

Sensu’s 10th birthday celebrations on Friday represents a long overdue Sub Club debut so let’s give Minus’s main man a right good Glasgow welcome…
