After a heavy weekend at the Sub Club, we sneaked behind the scenes to catch up with one of our most valuable players, Sub Club’s leading lady, Linda, the cleaner…We dug deep, then got down and dirty to see what makes her tick and how she keeps Glasgow’s favourite basement in tip top condition, all year round. We also find out what makes her move and the soundtrack of choice for when she’s buffering our world famous body sonic dancefloor…
Most interesting/weirdest thing you’ve found when cleaning the club?
A lot of underwear, lassies type.
Your favourite tune from when you were growing up?
The Beatles, Yellow Submarine ;)
Most memorable tune from your wedding?
Ohh that was a long time ago, it was in ma hoose, and it was my own music, a wee house perty. Tune was Doctor Hook, Sylvia’s Mother…
A tune you would like to listen to on the beach in Jersey?
Probably Westlife! Lovely place Jersey, where I get to see the family and enjoy the nice weather.
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to fill your marigolds one day?
I’d tell them to make sure they clean the toilets good and proper and to always watch out for chewing gum.
If you could go for dinner with two music/film stars dead or alive, who would you go with, and where would you go?
With Snow Patrol, I would go to the Black Sheep in Mary Hill, It’s lovely in there.

Where did you used to go when you went to “the dancin ” and do you have a memorable tune from that time?
We used to go to Tiffanys at Charing Cross. I liked the slow music. Bit of Motown, and Jimmy Ruffing.

What do you like most about working for the Subbie?
I really like the guys who run the Sub Club because they are always nice to me and appreciate the work I do.
