The Lezure boys have been smashing it in the capital as a relatively new night yet still bringing in top class acts like Marquis Hawkes, Serge, Maurice Fulton & Italo Johnson. Sub Rosa caught up with their East Coast companions ahead of the main event…
1.Hey guys, so for those not in the know why don’t you tell everyone who you are, where you’re based and what can be expected when you make your Sub Rosa debut on Wednesday?
‘Lezure is a monthly (or so) night we run in Edinburgh at the Mash House. Our night is about bringing some of our favourite DJ’s and producers to Edinburgh, as it’s a city normally missed. On Wednesday we will be playing anything we are feeling on the night. We normally make it up as we go along.’
2. Being a night based in Edinburgh, how do you guys feel getting to represent the Capital for a night? Do you think the Sub Club crowd will be similar to that of the Mash House or fairly different?
Getting to play Sub Club is pretty special. Having been part of the crowd at many amazing nights we can’t wait to be in the booth. At most Lezure nights the crowd is pretty good as well so we will just see on the night!
3. Right from the start you guys have been bringing in some very reputable guests – what do you have up your sleeve for the future of Lezure?
Without giving too much away our November and December guests are both German house music producers who have been releasing some of the best music this year. In terms of our October guest, Mr G described him as “one of the new school leaders” and our December guest produced one of the highest selling records this year on redeye.
