This week we’re paying homage to the distinctive Belgian sound that defined the dance floors of the 80s, New Beat. It took flight in Belgium and coursed around the veins of Western Europe for years to come. To showcase such an important movement we feel its only right to give you the brains behind the tribute, Red D. Vinyl enthusiast Red D is the boss man of Belgium’s We Play House recordings and ‘Our Beat Is Still New’ is his personal tribute to this sound. It’s a compilation album, which has given artists such as JD Twitch and Locked Groove a chance to undertake a new alias and adopt a ‘New Beat’ style.
