Freaky Freaky and Deadly Rhythm are joining forces this Friday to present EDMX, one of the most intriguing and exciting individuals in electronic music. With a career spanning almost 20 years, he’s had releases on the likes of Rephlex, Poplot and International Deejay Gigolo Records.
Despite being best known for his hard-hitting electro tinged club tracks, he’ll be gracing the Subbie booth for a special boogie set å la ‘We Are DMX’ (Rephlex Records 1999). We asked him to have a look inside his crate ahead of his performance and this is what he came back with…
Zapp – Dancefloor
Roger Troutman on the talkbox, drops even harder than “more bounce to the ounce”.
Jefferson Ink – Girl You Turn Me On

Much Sweated Texas vocoder bomb.
Vernon Burch – Do It To Me
One of the theme tunes of our London “Fresh Up” parties, greasy funk with robot voice.
Ose – Computer Funk
Restrained, stripped down and very funky DXJ collaboration from Miami.
Otis Clay & Louis XIV – Love Bandit

Very funky jam from out of Houston with 100% robot vocals.
Herbie Hancock – I Thought It Was You

Smooth and jazzy but funky too with the most soulful vocoder performance you will ever hear.
Kraftwerk – Die Roboter
Funky German robots dancing in nightclubs.
Formula V – Killer Groove
Rich Cason, the absolute don of stripped back west coast electro funk, made this blinding jam for formula V.
If this list is anything to go by, we’re in for a treat on Friday. Last of the Advance Tickets available here…
