Break Sweat Subbie Style // 23rd July – 4th August
As the opening ceremony beckons the media spotlight is turning on Glasgow.
With the slightly surreal atmosphere generated by fenced off streets, high vis jackets everywhere you look, lanyard wearing volunteers on every corner and Monday’s late night mini blitz of dress rehearsal fireworks booming across the city, the friendly city is at last ready to welcome the friendly games.
With thousands of victors expected to grace Glasgow’s dear green spaces during the 2014 Commonwealth Games, here at the Sub Club we stand ready to represent the nation and run our own marathon. At the heart of this fair city’s cultural landscape for the best part of 3 decades, the Subbie is the obvious place to feel the racing pulse of Glasgow.
And although your personal exercise regime may be limited to unwrapping the box fresh trainers or polishing up your synchronised dance moves, we want you to know that we are here to help you break sweat as we keep the Subbie doors open till 4AM for the duration of The Games. For us, there’s no shame in a late finish!
