BREATHE FRESHERS: Charlie Boon

Breathe freshers : Charlie Boon at Sub Club. We are delighted to make a return of our Monday night Freshers party series. After paving the way last year for others to follow, we knew we had to up the stakes, bigger venue, bigger artists and the best sound system in Scotland. We welcome the phenom that is Charlie Boon for his Sub Club debut, with music in his blood, having grown up above his father’s nightclub. Charlie knows how to bring the energy to a mid week party. For Charlie 2023 marked his breakthrough year, with a series of well-received tracks and electrifying DJ sets that have garnered him a dedicated fan base and admiration from his peers. Charlie’s music has received strong backing from BBC Radio 1, with over 100 plays, and has been championed by influential figures such as Skream, TSHA, Eliza Rose, Dan Shake, Girls Don’t Sync, Danny Howard, and Sarah Story. His live performances have been equally impressive, with standout gigs at major festivals like Glastonbury, Boardmasters, and Snowboxx, as well as all-night-long shows at XOYO’s Pleasurehood has seen him featured with high-profile acts like LF System, Ewan McVicar, Folamour, Dan Shake, and Elkka. With the solid foundation laid over the past two years, 2024 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Charlie Boon.His recent work reflects a deep connection to the underground rave culture, blending the energy of techno with the groove of house music, creating a unique and captivating sound that resonates with a broad audience. All signs point to Charlie Boon becoming a major force in the house and techno scene in the coming year and we invite you to be part of that story. Charlie has a long history with Breathe with Co-founder Robbie having appeared on multiple headline billings across Scotland with him. The two reunite with Robbie joining the lineup for what is sure to be a high energy ride from start to finish. Notorious for keeping the party going until the sun comes up and his no nonsense sound we can’t wait to see what Robbie has to bring, going from strength to strength this year with a string of impressive performances Carmen Baia makes her return also to the Sub Club booth to close out the show, we’ve not looked back since bringing her on board and are delighted to see the artist finds her groove under the breathe umbrella. Samuel Stopz also joins us for his Sub Club debut, we’ve been keeping an eye on this local talent after a series of impressive releases, Stopz will be bringing his signature house and speed garage blend to bring something new to the lineup
