Sun 10 August

SUN-Commonwealth Close Down Party

You guys are the real heroes and true gold medalists of Glasgow and the Commonwealth Games, from the troops in the sand pit to the runners on the track, since day one you guys have kept our heads above water and balanced throughout. Without you the tourists and energised revellers of old Glasgow town could not have got a much needed drink at the finish line, without you the party-goers would have had low levels of stamina and wouldn’t have made it over that final hurdle.

With thousands of visitors in the city over the last fortnight and 4am finishes all across the scoreboard we know that it’s been the bar staff, waiting staff, bouncers and bussers who held the burden of making the sporting season go by with a record breaking performance.

Seen as the the smoke from the starting gun has cleared and the world’s athletes and delegates have moved on, The Sub Club would love to serve you for a night. Trade your tracksuit for your glad rags, trade your venue for ours, trade your side of the bar for the customers’ and come join us for a celebration of a job well done over the last few weeks.

(Volunteers, Clydesiders, shop staff, street sweepers, toilet cleaners, taxi drivers, traffic cone polishers, real life Teacake wrappers, Scotty dog handlers, referees, coaches, stage managers, supporters, fanatics and proud Glaswegians, you’re all welcome too…)

Music to dance to by local champion selectors The Revenge, David Barbarossa, Paul Cawley & Wilba.

FREE ENTRY TO GAMES AND TRADE STAFF // £5 otherwise.
