Optimo are very happy to welcome Steffen Bennemann to the Sub Club. ”Who the hell is he?” you may well be asking yourselves. Well, he’s a cheeky little guy from Leipzig (that’s in Germany) who comes up with the extraordinary line ups and concepts at the renowned Nachtdigital festival (that’s in Germany too). He’s also a very fine dj with a singular approach to the profession and the only dj we have ever encountered who has a rider that insists the smoke machine controller MUST remain in his hands throughout his set (we’ll see about that). As well as running the Holger label, Mr. Bennemann is also renowned for throwing sleep parties where he plays records and the whole audience falls asleep (true!). This won’t be one of those parties, though we may pursue that idea at a later date.

JD Twitch asked Steffen what he will be playing at the Sub Club and he said “ACID”. Having heard him play several times before we have a feeling it won’t be “ACID” as we know it. Anyway, you may not have heard of him but we guarantee he is better than most of the dis who come to Glasgow that you have heard of. Steffen will play 12 – 2 and then we will all play together for the last hour while having a battle of wits to see who can gain control of the smoke machine.

Entry will be £8 before midnight, £10 after and £5 if you bring proof that you are unemployed / unemployable.
