Having been hotly tipped by the likes of Steffi, Maya Jane Coles and Bicep; Kim Ann Foxman first made her name as the singer for the hugely successful electronica band Hercules And Love Affair. Since then she’s been making huge waves in the house music scene, splitting her time between her international touring schedule and her home in NYC. Now it’s time to tick Sub Club off the list on Wednesday.
Sub Rosa caught up with this week’s guest to chat over Hawaii, touring and what never leaves her record bag…
First things first. Thanks for taking five minutes out for a chat with us, tell us a bit about your musical roots/influences:
I grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, listening to R n B, pop, and freestyle music until I discovered underground House and Techno.
Favourite touring locations?
Germany, UK, japan and Brazil!
We understand you’re flying straight from the studio on your way to us. What kind of stuff are you working on? Are you able to give us a head up on what you got coming up or is it top secret?
Keep your eyes peeled for launch of my record label “Firehouse”. The first one is out in November! My latest remix was for Shaun J. Wright & Alinka “Journey into the Deep”
There seems to be a lot of great music coming out at the moment from all across the spectrum, is there anyone is specific you’re digging at the moment?
Finally, can we get a few tunes that never leave your record bag?
Gat décor – passion
Kim Ann Foxman- Let me be the one ( Catz n Dogz Mix)
Matt Tolfrey- Untitled
H20-Take Me Higher ft. Billie
Thanks Kim, Looking forward to Wednesday!
“It’s gonna be a blast, people in Glasgow definitely know how to party!”
