Dauwd, the fertile, febrile producer with solid track records on Ghostly and Kompakt brings his pitch perfect rhythm and A- game to the Subculture booth this weekend. Telford and Sensu’s Junior support.
For the past two decades, Cologne’s Kompakt has been one of the most paramount underground dance labels in the world. Around the same time as our beloved Subculture came to life, Kompakt began emerging in the mid 1990s– at a time in which techno itself was almost exclusive to a tight knit community of Detroit devotees with a conservative, narrow definition of their scene.
20 years+ on from it’s humble beginnings, today Kompakt is a mini-empire. It’s company not only runs the label and website but also handles distribution, one of the industry’s largest techno record stores, a booking agency, and a publishing arm. Business aside they have kept credible control throughout, with their music output and club culture still satisfying a global demand each and every time. The creative programme and musical wax selection from Michael Mayer and the team is worth it’s weight in gold.
Ahead of the event we thought we’d dig a little deeper and share our Subbie resident’s top “5” picks from the Kompakt imprint…

“Hailing from Wales, Dauwd grew up playing pretty much any instrument he could get his hands on before turning to electronic production. His own material explores various ambient electronica and dubbed-out bass textures with a strong focus on percussion.”
We’re delighted to welcome him to Glasgow for his Sub Club debut on Saturday.
This Clash mix will take you on a journey through space and bass whilst putting you in the mood for the weekend…
