Marquis Hawkes Subculture Mix
Since forcing his way onto the scene in late 2012 with his ‘Cabrini Green EP’ for Glasgow label Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, the rough and rugged techno and house productions of the deliberately mysterious Marquis Hawkes have been grabbing the attention of some notable DJs and making a noise on dance floors as a consequence.
Looking forward to his Subculture debut this weekend alongside Harri & Dom and also a live set from one of house musics’ true pioneers Delano Smith, we have an exclusive ‘Subculture’ mix from the camera shy Berlin resident to share with you. We’re sure you’ll enjoy this skilful blend of the old and the new, the deep along with the energetic, ahead of what promises to be an exceptional night at the club on Saturday.
Marquis has been no stranger to the recording studio lately, with a spate of releases expected in the next few months and big things anticipated in the foreseeable future. Here he is on the remix tip for another Subculture friend…
Neville Watson – Against The Grain (Marquis Hawkes remix)
As big fans here at Subbieville, we look forward to hearing more action with his Mome remix on 4Lux, and a special remix for the late Romanthony due out on Glasgow Underground.
There are still £10 advance tickets available here to catch him & Delano Smith live alongside Harri & Domenic at Subculture this Saturday.
